Isn't it much cooler to get the working original to experience nes, it's readily availible still.

Tu, can't you also just get free emulators?   Do consoles like the one you linked do anything different?

the problem with old consoles is finding quality CRT tvs from the era for the best image quality and sound.

anyway the cheapest way to play old games is to run emulators on your PC. I have a PC linked to the flat TV in my living room, ans simply play emulated games on it.

Just lets you play cartridges if you have them.

Sure you can do ROMs and emulators, if that's what you want, there's no issue with it.

The biggest I've found with doing that is getting the controllers to function as expected.

Most modern Tvs have game mode. With game mode the lag isn't an issue.
There are only a handful of nes/snes games I still want to play, so I just use oem hardware. Then stick them back in a bin when I'm done.

Yes but the "nes experience" should be with a ordinary or even an old tv and standard cables.

Otherwise you can just download emulators and buy a hand control to your pc I guess.

I did that with nes, genesis and snes games, but it was just too impractical to have all that shit under your tv, with all the cables, different gamepads etc feels good for a week then wife/gf tells you it looks retarded.
So i went the pc/emulation/wireless gamepad route. And you can play pc games too with same gamepads.

I never got into games but was curious what this was.
Now, I'm even less interested in gaming devices.

They don't often work that well.

Sometimes it's a little sketchy.
