Seems this is the final nail in the coffin for the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. I would expect this generation will be the first to step up and fight for its removal from any public place.

Its ridiculous really.  Its not even at the request of black people at all.  This is all done by white, Republicans and liberals. They started this whole thing of removal. Rick Perry even supports the removal.

No. Read "An Un-Civil War". It's a bit over the top on the side of the South, but you get the picture. There is a lot written about the war now that doesn't tell the whole story. I'll try and get a bit more involved in the debate when I get to a computer. I hate typing on a phone.

The North failed to develop large-scale agrarian slavery, such as later arose in the Deep South, but that had little to do with morality and much to do with climate and economy.

There are reports of African Americans in New England farms working in slave-like conditions and not being allowed to leave the farm well into the late 1890s (way after the Civil War). Some even suggest that there REAL slaves in New England in the early 1900s.

So, to my Northern friends: Shove your fake Puritanism up your ass!
