Another thumb up. This is some sad shit. I stated year ago here don't remember when that it's going to start with Homosexuality, the transgender, then pedo and animal shit. BTW, why can't I get married to more than one woman in this country if it's within my religious believes? (It's not, just sayin.).
You're argument has nothing to do with the legal basis used to settle this one.
1. A spouse is a persona entered in marriage with another individual. Until today, that other spouse was of the opposite gender.
2. To ban 2 people of same gender from being married is to discriminate on the basis of their gender.
This is a direct violation of the 14th amendment.
Marriage is still limited to 2 people aka spouses.
The only criteria considered by the court was standing.
The side opposed to gay marriage was unable to show any harm being done to those against gay marriage.
Thus, they did not have standing in this case.
I'm no legal scholar, but the 2 main issues were: gender discrimination and standing.
