Here are some DVD pics of Markus Ruhl at Gold's Gym Las Vegas the day after the 1999 Mr. Olympia. Crazy striated chest and his waist was still in control and tight. In my opinion he was already big enough and didn't have to put on all of that size he did later in his career. His chest has to be up there with some of the best in the 2000's and all - time.

Even back then his triceps were nowhere near his biceps.

His delts overpowered the rest of his upper body in every single front pose. His arms looked small though they weren't that bad (triceps lacked the extra roundness). Even his chest, that most pros would have killed for, was not on par with his delts. That strong point made everything else look weak though it wasn't the case.

There's a GIF of him from 2001(i think) on stage thats just unreal.  Biggest shoulders I've ever seen on stage.  If he didn't have a blocky waist I think he would've been able to win the O.

Look how pointy his biceps and delts were. He had an insane amount of oil in them. Far more than even Flex Wheeler and Nasser El Sonbaty had at that time.
