Are you supposed to wear leather boots or shoes when you go to the gym? Or grocery shopping? Or running?

I hope you're joking. I think half the kids in the learning disabilities classes at my high school wore those. No way in hell are those 'ok' at any age unless you absolutely do not care, which I half assume is the case, whether you know it or not. If so, that's cool, I guess.

I wear sneakers to run and mow the lawn. Maybe to buy groceries and beer. Every where else it's quality shoes. It just looks clownish to wear multi colored basketball sneakers and jeans.

I run in these. About $140 bucks and made in the USA. A great running shoe for guys over 180lbs. Many running shoes are made for light weight runners.

there is a name for those kind of shoes, especially worn with jeans.

"junners". they are the 201X's equivalent of the full leisure suits (track suits) worn by retirees in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

I have very wide feet. New Balance shoes fit well where other brands do not. Nike's are made for folks with rather narrow feet. I've never found a pair that fit me.

Women have fallen sucker to stylish shoes, which rarely fit their feet. As a result, they have more foot problems than men do. Go to any podiatrist and what do you see in the waiting room? Mostly women.

Not really true. I have wide and flat feet. Nikes fit perfectly, just don't buy their running shoes.
