From his dad’s torture in Cuba to his experience watching hard-core porn with Justices Rehnquist and O’Connor, it seems nothing is off-limits in the senator’s forthcoming memoir.

Ted Cruz first heard about his father’s torture as a teenager, after the two of them spent the afternoon watching a Rambo movie.

Torture is a tragically familiar concept in the Cruz family: Cruz’s father, Rafael, had been jailed as a Cuban revolutionary in the days of Fulgencio Batista; his aunt later opposed the Castro regime, and too was physically abused. Just hours after watching Rambo endure agonizing electrical torture by Vietnamese captors, Rafael piped up about the scene. It was a rare window into his treatment by the Batista regime.

“You know, the Cubans weren’t nearly that fancy in their torture methods. They would just come into your jail cell every couple of hours and beat the crap out of you. And then they’d do it again and again,” Rafael Cruz said, according to his son, a Republican senator from Texas and the author of a forthcoming book, A Time for Truth.

Ted Cruz Busted For Buying His Own Books As NY Times Refuses To Put Him On Bestseller List


The New York Times has refused to put Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on their bestseller list after finding evidence that his book sales were not authentic.

New York Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy told Politico, “We have uniform standards that we apply to our best seller list, which includes an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold. This book didn’t meet that standard this week. Our goal is that the list reflect authentic best sellers, so we look at and analyze not just numbers, but patterns of sales for every book.”

Murphy later added more detail, “In the case of this book, the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases.”

Strategic bulk purchases is a polite way of saying that Cruz, his super PAC, or organization that he cut a deal with, bought the books in bulk to inflate his sales numbers and land him on the bestseller list.

Amazon, HarperCollins: The New York Times Is Lying About Ted Cruz’s Book Sales

The left-wing New York Times claimed last week that Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)

was not listed on the New York Times bestseller list  because “Cruz’s new book, “A Time For Truth” was benefitting unfairly from bulk sales that artificially inflated sales figures. Harper Collins said that is not true and Amazon backed that up:

    On Sunday, an Amazon spokesperson told the On Media blog that the company’s sales data showed no evidence of unusual bulk purchase activity for the Texas senator’s memoir, casting further doubt on the Times’ claim that the book — “A Time For Truth” — had been omitted from its list because sales had been driven by “strategic bulk purchases.” …

   Amazon’s findings match those of HarperCollins, the book’s publisher, which said Friday that it had “investigated the sales pattern” for Cruz’s book and found “no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization.” Moments after that announcement, Cruz’s campaign issued a press release accusing the Times of lying and calling on the paper to provide evidence of bulk purchasing or else formally apologize.

The New York Times caught lying is a dog bites man story but always worthy of note.

Amazon owner Jeff Bezos has good reason to expose the Times as liars.  Bezos owns the left-wing Washington Post. In the age of the Internet, the Post and Times are in direct competition online.

Good.  I'm glad this case allowed people to see the NY Times was making shit up.  I posted the article because it was about my #1 choice for 2016, Ted Cruz. 

Now, we have seen the ONLY possible bad news piece about Cruz in 2015 has been debunked.  Thread win. 

I'll continue to post good, bad, hilarious, etc articles about every candidate, including Cruz.  Many of us heard this story, and now, thanks to your response, we know the NYT will intentionally lie about Cruz.  This helps him.

Cruz or lose.  That hasn't changed for me.  Trump is a liberal plant used to make repubs look bad, I've been posting that since 2011 and saying it since 2008.   Hilary is a socialist trashy mess.  Jeb, Christie are pandering RINOs.  Cruz is the only one in the race with sincere conservatism.
