« on: July 10, 2015, 08:49:37 PM »
I'm looking for some kind of program or site that will detect if a picture has been photoshopped. Something thats easy to understand lol.

Your eyeballs.  That is the best tool.

Unless the program can analyze vectors or layers, there really isn't much you can hope for.  Most photoshop jobs end with a Flatten Image process so that all layers are flattened into one image.

Send me the photo.  I will look at it if you tell me what you suspect.

But going to bed in a second so can't look until tomorrow.

Easiest way with your eyes is to look for things that seem to be a different texture (grain) or contrast to the rest of the photo.  This is evident when someone uses the application to smooth out wrinkles or enhance certain parts by making them bigger  (doing so will give the skin a pore free look so it looks unnaturally smooth)

You have to be more specific. Lots of people use Photoshop and Lightroom to edit photos. So just knowing a photo has been edited in Photoshop doesn't tell you if the photo has been modified.

I think you want to find out how to tell if a photo has been changed or modified using Photoshop. Like add or remove things or distort the photo

in one way or other.

Lightroom can be used to store photos. Photoshop, no. So if photoshop metadata shows up, it had been edited.

If you modify a photo with Photoshop; store the file; then open it with Microsoft Paint; then Store that as a seperate file;

Wouldn't that strip away all the meta data?

lightroom is first an editing program and you dont store in lightroom, great for organizing tough. And just because the pic has been edited in photoshop doesnt mean the pic has been altered more then some added sharpness contrast etc South korean fanboy

True...just because a photo was saved in photoshop doesn't mean the image itself was altered. I'll use photoshop to crop images when I don't want getbiggers to criticize my choice of decor or shmoetastic bodybuilding posters in the background  ;D

Also, image hosting sites like imgur and photobucket strip EXIF by default.

Open the picture in photoshop then use the image adjustment>levels. Take the slider to the left and drag to the right. If it's been altered the edit will be apparent. You will see the brush strokes or the edited part will be slightly different. The continuous tone will be interrupted.

I never mastered Photoshop. Are you all suggesting that with Photoshop, I could make myself look big, shredded, more vascular and a handsome devil? Maybe this is something I should check into.  ;D

I would, but Fitness Frenzy will Photoshop it in ways I really don't want to visualize myself. :D I have an unfortunate history with posting photos of myself here....although not as bad as some. Don't take it personally if I don't trust you. You are probably an upstanding dude..... but you just never know.
