Not exactly Audie Murphy-type courage, is it? More like Sex-in-the City courage

Caitlyn Jenner makes top 10 of BBC's most powerful women list

LONDON — She's appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair, was named as this year's Arthur Ashe Courage Award winner and now Caitlyn Jenner has made the BBC's list of most powerful women for 2015.

Jenner took the number seven spot in BBC Radio 4's 2015 Woman's Hour Power List, which identifies women who have had an "exceptionally large impact" on people's lives and an ability to influence others.

"Many news sources describe her as the most famous openly transgender person in the world," Jenner's entry on the list reads.

The list, which in a previous year was topped by the Queen, is decided by a panel of four judges who compile it based on who the most influential women "operating in the UK" are. They also take suggestions from the public as to who should be included.

"It can only be to the good if a wider audience can learn to understand her experience” said judge Sarah Vine, describing Jenner's impact.

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who emerged as a hugely popular figure throughout the UK general election, topped the list, with Anna Wintour in second place and Angelina Jolie in third. Editor of The Guardian Katharine Viner and singer Sia also made the top 10.

This greatly damages and devalues the institution of the ESPN Arthur 'Sooty' Ashe Courage Award, which has nothing to do with transexuality and was originally intended to commemorate the bravery of a man who played tennis while simultaneously being black.

If they insist absolutely on awarding Ms. Jenner then it should be shared equally with landscape contractor Hector Gonzales who, at great personal risk and without regard for his own safety, has been mowing the pitch, "borrowing jor horse," and making major Hispanic inroads in the Polo community for over a decade.  Also welcome would be an honorable mention for all members of the extremely ethnic Asian Croquet Team as well as the Hindu Curling Contingent.  Ms. Jenner is, however, more deserving than Eddie Sealclubber, the Inuit sport fisherman, who was added simply to bulk out the nominations.  As if those people don't fish all the time anyway.

Yeah, maybe.

Problem is, she was only 19, so she only fought the excruciating physical/emotional trauma of terminal cancer for a short while. Poor Bruce, meanwhile, couldn't wear a fabulous Saks evening gown for 65 f'n years.

LOL. Typical BBC.

No doubt most of the remaining women on their list will be a load of liberal thinkers, feminists and other "progressives". :-\
