i heard that Ken Shamrock at his biggest had a bench between 600 and 640. Validity is probably as acceptable as Scott Steiners claim of 675, but lots of MMA fighters said Ken was the strongest guy in MMA

His brother Frank says his best was 475. In his biography it says he did, or close to it, 600. It probably is inflated. The exercise alone isn't a measure of fighting ability but I'd rather have a good bench than not. His tryout training routines (which had no weight training but a lot of calisthenics) are where it's at for conditioning. They'd do 200 squats, 50 or so push ups, stair running drills, carrying drills, pull ups, and more without rest until you were (even if you made it) obliterated. Then the real sparing began. Great tests for endurance and perseverance.

Bullshit. That would pretty much make him the strongest bencher in the world for his bodyweight.

I am pretty sure Gary Goodrich is stronger than Shamrock ever was. Goodrich was a world armwrestling champion. I heard to he benched over 600 and at least he looks like he can.

There are two guys here who weighed around 200 and did 600. Julian Lee I think bench 600 at 198 (not sure but close, the body weight I mean) and Francis Silva did 600 at 217 lbs. Both in competition.

Jesse Kellum did 625 or so at 198, George Halbert did over 700 at 198 but i don't know how legit the lift was but it passed.

yeah, i meant jesse callum. he's a strong SOB, pound for pound he has to be one of the strongest in the world. didnt he do a 900+ squat, 600+ bench, and an 800+ d-lift? all at 198 or 220?
