Since I've been posting here for over 15 yrs, allow me to explain:

1. The getbig gossip and opinion forum was NEVER 100% bodybuilding.

2. This forums reflects what's going on , or better yet, NOT going on with pro bodybuilding.
NBC-sn canceled it's coverage of the 50th Olympia last yr. Fringe elements like Rich Piana's 5% and Jason Genova's antics are more popular then the avg pro. Bikini and MPD are now the biggest divisions at every big bodybuilding contest.

3. Get Big has evolved into a general entertainment forum frequented by people who have some interest in bodybuilding and working out.

I'm an old fart, but my own lifestyle and interest reflect the loss of focus on bodybuilding over the past 10 years.

another problem is that the shitty threads get bumped all the time, which means other threads goes off the main page and just like in google, you cant be bothered with anything thats not on the first page.
the result is that good long going threads, with a lot of life in them still, very quickly, disappears into obscurity, first they get to the 2nd page, then the 3rd and so on.
one shoulndt need to go on a search mission whenever logging into getbig in order to find good discussions and threads just because the main page is clogged with threads about racism, underage sex and superman vs batman.

getbig just miss the boat. there's so much going on in bodybuilding but it doesnt make it here. because people are clueless, dont give a fuck or think bodybuilding is over. lee priest (just to take one example) was in the hospital, coming out with a new dvd, just got married, got a new clothing line etc yet not a single word is spoken about here? (i dont care whether you care about lee or not its bodybuilding gossip and should been here), robby the black prince is going strong, there's podcast 1+ hour long interviews with him out there (for free) - again not a single word about it. we have amateurs against bros deadlifting and benching (with jay cutler attending) - not a single word about it. the list goes on and on and on. there is so much happening that its incredible.

You can get that form of news on various other bodybuilding forums.

The reality is most of us are bored and uninterested with the day to day events related to pro BB.
The last time I was pumped seeing the Olympia was when Jay came back ripped to regain the title in 2009.
Jay was a class act and had a sincere desire to interact with all fans.

Phil and Kai just don't inspire many fans now and don't generate a lot of interest compared to former champs.
Arnold hasn't been on stage in decades and is still the most popular bodybuilder in history.
Big Ronnie was a larger then life legend and his persona was fun and interesting.

Bodybuilding is a small, insular sport. If the top guys lack appeal, it has a major negative effect on the entire sport.
