Soft target. It's one of the reasons tha I ALWAYS carry in a theater if I am with my family, even if there's a "NO FIREARMS" sign on the door.
i'm in florida. I have never seen a "no guns" sign on the door. I saw the new minion movie this week. you bet I carried. Movie theaters are a dangerously soft target with plenty of blind spots, zero security, and elderly/children everywhere. And thanks to one million florida concealed permit carriers, I saw PLENTY of vet-looking dudes with fanny packs in the movie too. I love it.
As I used to teach my students in my class section on lethal force: carrying a concealed weapon will make you the biggest coward in the world. Every altercation, no matter how minor, is upgraded to "lethal force" because of that roscoe on your hip. If you aren't of a sober and judicious temperament, save everybody the trouble and leave the gun at home.
I've carried for 18 years. never pulled it on anyone, even when some jackass punched me at the mall in my early 20s. I've walked away from PLENTY of situations where the other dude wanted to escalate. It's actually a WIN to know you COULD blast him into the next life, but you're BETTER than that. Smile, shake your head, and just walk away.
I agree - hotheads that 'stand their ground' when both idiots run into a deadly confrontation - they belong in prison.
