New York Yankees "Trainer"
« on: July 26, 2015, 01:14:43 PM »
I'm watching the game, and the Yankees' catcher gets hit by a foul tip. The trainer, Mark Littlefield, comes out to check on him. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

What kind of physique is that? Even if he knows his stuff, shouldn't he be displaying some sort of dietary discipline, just as an example? This is one of the most valuable sports franchises on the planet.

I didn't know that was a required prerequisite for being an athletic trainer. Would rather have the guy look like bodybuilder and not what what he's doing or semi fat guy that works with and hired on by a pro team that knows what he's doing. What about Umpires? I remember when John McSherry dropped dead at home plate.

The guy isn't a personal trainer. He helps with injuries, tapes the players, stretches them, etc.

Are video cameras allowed in the shower-room at Yankee stadium?

Good stuff. I'm always interested to see how strength coaches differ in training philosophy from one another. That gym looks not that much bigger than mine.

im' a big fan of the dude that whooped p-diddy and tried to trip another player on the field.

not what we'd call classy, or even civilized, but legit badass.

This. I think the only requirement is experience.
