Edwin looks to be heating up ...

Jays are 8-0 with Tulo in the starting lineup.

ya EE's last 2 games were great. 5rbi's and i think 1 hr. Their offense is RIDICULOUS.

Tulo
Donaldson
Bautista
EE
Collabelo/Martin

thats their top 5 batting order. Get Travis back and its this plus him for their top 6

Since 1871 there are only 45 teams with a better wRC+ than the 2015 Blue Jays.
That's out of 2805 teams.
Putting this year's Jays team in the 98th percentile for offense.

i know this is a Yankee thread so sorry for the Blue Jays talk(not sorry)   :D

It's not a Yankee thread, it was Mr. Joad being facetious.

Will change thread title, as Yankees vs. Toronto will be a good topic for the rest of the year, plus there's real fans of each team here.

what about Baltimore?  any O's fans on here?
(they're probably the Jays biggest current rivals with ongoing beanball drama etc.)
I ain't counting them out yet ... tho they've got the toughest remaining schedule.

Not really impressed with Baltimore.  Don't fear their pitching at all.

looking at just team ERA (before today's games) Baltimore is 6th ... Toronto 8th ... and NY 9th in the A.L.

Jays outlasted the Yanks in 10. HR's by Bautista and Donaldson again.

Great pitchers duel. Dickey has been on fire his last 3 starts

Yesterday was a good game. With two potent offenses is was nice to see a close game and that both teams can play in a close one and not suffer mental blunders or give up a big inning. The Yankees have face two knuckleballers this week and did not look great against either.

It was my first time this year watching Eovaldi pitch and found his stuff a little strange. He has a potent arm and was routinely hitting 97-98 but hitters weren't having a difficult time getting around on it. Its like their was no action to it. Sometimes you watch a guy throw 93-94 and it looks 97-98 given the way it comes out of the delivery but Eovaldi almost seemed the opposite, throwing 97-98 but it looking like 93-94. Just an observation, I haven't faced Eovaldi in a game situation so players may feel different.

This should be a great series and a tune up (for players and fans) for the September pennant chase.

Watched that one live.  Suspect bullpen management, but wouldn't have mattered.  Yankees couldn't hit Price, who they've had success off in the past.  Oh well.....lots of baseball left.

Tulo/Donaldson/Bautista/Encarnacion is a nasty top four of a lineup.....adding in Martin too........easy to see why they score so much.

SWEEP   :D

Yanks had some trouble with the Jays pitching.  First time ever they've been shut out in back 2 back Ga especially since 1999. Estrada has been awesome his last 5ish starts. ERA of 3.21.....top 10 in the AL
Donaldson and Bautista going deep again.

After scoring 90 runs in 10 games, the offense had a collective slump.  Price is awesome, didn't really see greatness from Estrada.  Toronto was just better overall this series, and was able to win both games in which they were held to two runs.

Going to be fun down the stretch.

I was at the stadium yesterday and the place was dead. 2-0 felt like 10-0.
and the bleachers are lame now, just a bunch of wanna be bleacher creatures.

Not scoring runs can do that to a crowd.  Just a collective slump - baseball being baseball.

One thing about this NY team this year - when they get bad, they get really bad.  Hopefully it's not prolonged.

I'm getting tired of this "money ball" shit from my A's. Its great to watch Donaldson have an MVP type year in Toronto  ::)

When will they realize that you actually have to keep some talent to stay competitive?  :-X
