We already do, pal. We euthanize our pets, we hunt/cull, etc., intervening to alleviate unnecessary suffering. The universe is an indifferent, merciless bitch; why not help where we are able?

I've seen a video of her husband posted killing a leopard....a carcass tied to a tree and they wait, the leopard trying to eat the free meal gets shot in the head....that'd not hunting IMO. Furthermore they try and hunt with arrows...for more thrill, the animal most times suffers for a while before dying...Cecil was found 40 hours later after he was shot with an arrow.

I value animals more than human life, to me those lions and giraffes are more purposeful to the planet than their existence.

The vast majority of these big game hunters like Walter Palmer and this woman are not trained soldiers with any real-life battle experience.
It's not like we are looking at ex-special forces who spent several years fighting on the frontline in Basra.

All these hunters have done is gone on Safari and with the help of several guides, shot dead an unsuspecting animal from hundreds of metres away. They might be quite handy with a firearm in a controlled and safe environment but they certainly aren't "badass" enough to intimidate most people.

AJ is a good dude but I've noticed there are certain topics which really seem to bring out the worst in him and he loses all the objectivity he otherwise possesses. Reminds me of my dad in that sense - which isn't a good thing.

The thing is, I don’t even have anything against hunting under the correct circumstances (food, cull..etc) but shooting animals just for fun seems like a pointless and somewhat sadistic hobby. I struggle to see why anyone could find it enjoyable. What’s wrong with a shooting range?

Yes, I noticed AJ becomes grumpy during the following topics:

Hunting
Liberals
Religion

During these moments, AJ needs to sit down, relax, and have a glass of water. Perhaps hit the weights and let off steam.   It will serve him well.

AJ and I are both on the Northeast. I think its time we met up in person, had a beer, and talked through many of these things. I am hoping that I can reach him on some level.

Well, to be honest, don't we all occupy spaces in each others minds when we log onto getbig? Once I log into getbig, I see all the threads where people have commented and where I am involved in a discussion with them. So I go there and talk. This will often lead me to continue to discuss an ongoing topic with the same people. So, yes, I guess you are "in my head." 

Once I log off and go do something else, I don't think about posters here.

So, really, we all occupy each others minds once we sign onto getbig. It becomes an issue if you're thinking about getbig once you log off.
