If you want heaps of meat, go to a butcher, my roommate and I did just that. We bought a cow, you can get a bunch of chicken as well, however, it's not cheap.

everyone has money for at least proten and milk. just make a sacrifice. if you buy online you can pay 30 dollars for 5 pounds. Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey protein. www.bodybuilding.com is pretty good. www.bestpricenutrition.c om is also good.

Protein and meat, that is the way to go.  I use Muscle Milk and get it for $20 a tub and it lasts me about 2-3 weeks(at A1Supplements.com), but I take 3 sometimes 4 shakes a day.  Chicken breasts are always good and fairly cheap.  You can buy a frozen bag full for like $7-8 that inlude 12-16 breasts.  Cans of tuna, $1.  Cheese, cottage cheese is cheap also.  Theres ways to do it bro.  Nattys do it for the love of the sport basically since there is no money in it, unless you can be a rep or something.

Just eat everything in sight. Training and eating frequently are more important than fancy supps. at GNC. When one of your friends doesn't finish his sandwich, grab that sucker and scarf it down. At someone's birthday party, eat more than your share of the cake. Pot lucks, parties, company meetings, the possibilities are endless.

You can

Forget the protein powders------you can get creatine cheap that will last you for months. I would buy creatine anytime over protein supplements. Creatine works, protein is overated, based on my years of experience.

Just east healthy and train consistently----training consistently is the key !

simple buy sups at gnc, use half the bottle, then return for a refund (make sure you do it within 30 days).

This is free.

As for food you don't need much, three good meals a day and you'll be fine.  I think bulking is overrated for naturals.

creatine works and protein is overrated? are you nuts? it's the other way around. protein is the only thing that makes muscles grow. depending on who you are you need a certain amount of protein each day. it's very hard to get let's say 2g/bodypound per day by just eating. even 1g/bodypound.

Yeah I agree. Creatine mass is mostly water. It makes you look slightly puffier.

I would agree if you believe all the hype in all the magazines about needing protein to build muscle. I believed it myself, have bought $$$$$$$$$ of dollars worth of protein supplements over the years, been on high protein diets where I was ingesting 200 to 300 grams a day (at bodyweight of 190-200 lbs),

and ya know what ?

I find I still make the same kind of gains when I pay no attention to my protein intake, like currently----I have made great gains in the last 6 months, and I pay no attention to protein intake, and dont even make an effort to see that I am getting a lot. Some days I may get 50 grams, some days 100, etc. and I still make the same gains reguardless.

Hey , I was a believer too, but all I can say that it is what it is, protein is way, way, overated.

Speaking from experience !  Thank you .

I agree, except I have noticed now that I got off the typical BB high protein diet I shed a lot of fat and kept all of the muscle

the proof is that I'm actually lifting more weight now then I was at 20 lbs heavier.  Went from 176 to 151 at 5'9" and now I can chin with 90lbs hanging for reps.  Shed that pudge and stop wasting time and money with 6 high protein meals.

You don't need supplements to get big, they can help but are definitely not a requirement. In a way you are blessed having limited money right now because it steers you away from the b.s. and it allows you to learn your body.

When I first started I did'nt have money either, heck I still don't, but the point is that the most important variables are affordable.

Most important factors are
1) stimulate growth with intense enough training
2) consume enough calories and primary nutrients to support growth
3) rest long enough to allow the trained muscle to recover and growth
4) repeat sequence again

At under .40/per serving, protein powder is a very economical supplement.

Protein supplementation has helped me a lot, and I wouldn't recommend not doing without.  My gains don't compare when I'm on vs. when I'm not.

I would not but cheap creatine...made that mistake once in college-took it for a week, it was a horrible experience.  If you are just trying to get big and build muscle, like someone said, just eat whatever you can get your hands on.  In my off-season I didn't worry so much about where I got my calories, just that I got them.  As long as you are consistently working out you'll be fine.

BUT if you plan on training for a show I disagree with the above and think getting in enough high quality protein is essential to maintaining muscle while dieting.
