cooked some roast beef today
« on: August 11, 2015, 07:50:25 PM »
so i got tired of paying 12 dollars for my philly cheese sandwich at my Italian deli, so i started doing a little research. as
i already had a meat slicer, i went to costco and bought two eye of round roast, for 26 bucks
total weight was 5 pounds for both roasts. i seasoned them and put in the oven for 1.5 hours. i used some beef broth and a beef bullion cube and a little soy sauce to make my au jus.
i cooled the meat overnight, and sliced it really thin the next day. i ended up with two big containers of beautiful sliced pink roast beef. i went to my italian deli and bought hoagie rolls, and have made
three french dip sandwiches, and cooked some peppers and onions and made three philly sandwiches. THESE SANDWICHES ARE THE FUCKING BOMB!!!!!!!!!!

i have fed my self, my lifting partners, and i still have one big container left of roast beef.

no more 12 dollars phillys for this guy. homie don't play that game anymore!!!! i figure each sandwich comes out to be about 3 bucks apiece for a home made sandwich. pictures coming if needed.

I imagine there are risks involved using a knife with chronic jazz hands?  :D

Not a fan of that beer either, odd taste to it... Sandwiches look great on the other hand...
We cook all of our own food. The stuff I take to work, would cost at least 10.00 a day in the cafe at work. The guys I work with buy lunch every day (shit food too) and its around 10.00 a day.
Then they go and buy a 3.00 coffee (starbucks), when we get it free (regualr coffee) up in our work area.

$260.00 a month in greasy, sodium filled, Sysco shit food, I dont get it... Plus they "dont even lift bro" and look like shite  :P

Well done, you have finally outsmarted those pesky ol' food retailers!!!

What's next bro? Making your own fries at home with a 'potato chopper' so you can finally cut ties with mcdonalds?
