How well do you guys think the powerlifter would do in a calisthenics themed workout.... He'd probably get injured.

Sometimes these dudes do go to a gym. Mainly do light work and cardio. If anything it's healthier, and you get cut (don't know what his diet is like). Plus that is the look that is being pushed now, so one can get modeling contracts.

He's probably lifted. Most of the bigger calisthenics guys do have past lifting backgrounds, they just don't play it up. Many I knew had a decent amount of lifting experience from high school/college, then just transitioned to mostly calisthenics, plus a few regular lifting work outs here and there.

exactly. When you are in the lifting-Calisthenics world, you've started out somewhere. And usually it was high school or college, and then transitioned to either one or the other or dabble in both.
We all know how to do reg push ups, wide grip push ups, diamond push ups, dips. And the same people who do that tend to know how to do bench press, squat, etc. The thing is that many don't know how to master the technique of one or the other if one is more of a specialist.

Calisthenics guy would have struggled to squat that weight once, probably why he quit on dips. It is interesting though that he performed so poorly on the pullups and dips, the additional weight crushed. I'm sure he is capable of banging out sets of twenty with bodyweight only. The powerlifter had very good muscular endurance, he would probably smoke a crossfitter. I wonder how Scott Mendelson or Dave Hoff would have fared...

I think I'm being trolled.

2015 - we had 3 Americans placing in the top 10, with Shaw winning.

2014 - we had 4 Americans in the top ten, with 2 being 3rd and 4th place.

2013 - we had 4 again top 10 with Shaw winning.

2012 - we had 2, in the 4th and 5th spot.

2011 - 3 in top ten, with Shaw winning.

We're still very competitive in Strongman.
