From 1972 to 2012, not one person from the USA has won a gold medal in the super heavy weight division. And in most other divisions (Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, Middleweight, Light heavyweight, Middle heavyweight, Heavyweight) a gold medal has not been won by the USA since the 1950s.

Even among Worlds Strongest Man competitions, from 1983 to 2015, there has only been two American winner, Brian Shaw and Phil Pfister. And Pfister only one once. Shaw has won 3 times. Once Shaw retires, it will be PIP for american strongman future winners.

No, not in my lifetime. I could maybe get the 220 x 20 in bench, but probably not. My best was like 12. I probably would get 1-3 with the pull-ups. I might be able to do the dips, I do train dips with weight approaching that. And the squats, NFW. Can't back squat for shit without ending up in traction.

Im surprised the "street athlete" couldn't get more on the bench press. Just goes to show you: looking like you can lift a lot, doesn't mean you can. And looking like you can't lift alot, doesn't mean you can't.

Ah, but we still have a number of 2nd and 3rd placers in that mix, so we aren't getting blown out. Also Kazmaier was politely excluded from 83 - 87 from competition because of his winning ways, or we probably would've had many more titles. He came back in '88 with a second place win, 4th in '89.

Yes, Kazmaier did win, but that is when WSM was just coming onto the scene. I mean, it doesnt make his wins any less important, but the more WSM became popular, the more people from around the world started to compete in them.

2015 - we had 3 Americans placing in the top 10, with Shaw winning.

2014 - we had 4 Americans in the top ten, with 2 being 3rd and 4th place.

2013 - we had 4 again top 10 with Shaw winning.

2012 - we had 2, in the 4th and 5th spot.

2011 - 3 in top ten, with Shaw winning.

etc....

We're still very competitive in Strongman.

My guess is that the street workout specialist deals mainly with body weight/calisthenics exercises. You are not really going to build strength with that. Cuts, some size and stamina is what you gain.

But was kinda surprised for a guy who can do those park style pullups could not finish. He has an impressive shape. But knew he'd choke when came time to do legs. Like most black dudes in the gym actually. Not surprised.
