believable.  Many 175 pound dudes put down 3500-4500 a day.

Watt is 288 pounds, probably over 300 in the offseason.  He lives on healthy fats, lots of calories there.
Bacon adds up fast.

Exercising 2+ hours a day, world class genes... yeah, I can see 6000 and him losing weight, with 9000 being the cheat day.

Claims 6000-9000 calories a day ::)

http://espn.go.com/blog/houston-texans/post/_/id/12059/bacon-wrapped-chicken-texans-jj-watt-eats-up-to-9000-calories-to-fuel

I bet that it's closer to 6000 than it is to 9000. But if he is doing what Michael Phelps did; he is eating whole pizzas and entire 16oz box of spaghetti at a sitting.

Easily believable.  When I was in my early 20's, I ate 6100 to 6300 calories daily.  I was lifting 5-6 days a week, and doing cardio 4-5 days a week.  I was 6'3" at 230 lbs.  He's quite a bit bigger and probably much more active, so 6000 - 9000 shouldn't be a stretch.

Don't believe it. Donovan McNabb ate 2000 cals during the season and he still stayed puffy. Though, Watt isnt exactly lean either....

You guys are nuts.

9000 calories is the equivalent of about 40 miles of running a day for a 300-lb man.

Do we still subscribe to the notion that if you run X miles you burn Y calories?

The mass-specific energy cost of running a mile is very consistent "cockfeed", this has been known for decades:

Where are your data to refute this?

Last year played with herniated disk.

Hurt his back again, possibly out for season.

His later adult life is going to be one in constant pain.

eating high calories (9000) for a long period of time will just overload your digestive system, you can only eat as much as you can process and shit out.

People who claim these high amounts don't eat them everyday, the body cant handle that much food.

According to Falcon, he'd need only a tablespoon/teaspoon (non-laxative amount) of Epsom salt to help alleviate his back pain.

what a crock of shit lol

Quote
Since entering the NFL, Watt convinced himself that food was just fuel, that taste didn't matter and that this would perfect his diet. In his mind, a lean, low-carb diet was what his body needed to be as strong and lean as he wanted to be. [...]

"There's plenty of days when I don't want to eat chicken breast and broccoli and rice, but I know what I have to do, and I know the sacrifice I have to make."

how the fuck is bacon wrapped chicken "lean"
how the fuck is chicken broccoli and rice "low carb"  ::)

JJ Watt is done for the season and some think his career might be done.  So he better stop eating all those calories or he's going to be a fat shit.

5000-6000 calories is a lot of food but not difficult in a day everyday.

9000-10000 calories a day everyday is a ton of food and not easy.

Granted "ease" is relative.

During the Off season we have most of our College/Nfl linemen at minimum of 5500-6500 a day. As they go into preseason  OTA/mini-camps, practices and then season we bump it up another 1-2000 calories.
