Here, in no particular order, are some very good life lessons I learned from being involved in bodybuilding and the iron wars over the last many years. I am greatful for this. Feel free to add your own.
If it isn't working ya gotta try something else.
You gotta eventually get on stage to stop bullshitting yourself.
Over and over and over sets and reps sets and reps. There is no other way.
You may not become Flex Wheeler, but you can set yourself head and shoulders above other men through your efforts and will.
Bench pressing 300 pounds is an objective reality.
Be skeptical of products and gurus promising gains.
10 reps today. 11 tomorrow.
When the squat bar drops the bullshit stops.
Ya gotta show up. Just get in gym.
YOU have to figure out what works.
Ya gotta be consistent.
You gotta have a specific step by step plan.
You have to have volume.
Some things you can't rush.
Intensity is important, as is consistent intensity over time.
Rest is important to growth and avoiding burnout.
You always have to be pushing to progress
Progression towards a goal.
You gotta get in a certain number of reps. You can't really shortcut this.
Always try to push for a few more reps.
You need to develop a nothing can stop me mentality.
