Bolt v. Gatlin in 100m final
« on: August 23, 2015, 06:15:08 AM »
Gatlin ran his semi final in 9.77 while Bolt ran 9.96. I'm surprised there's no thread on these two natural athletes of peace.

They're about as natural as each other - Bolt just hasn't been caught (yet).

This means a lot because I've been struggling all season, it's taken me a while to work things out. It's been up and down but it's okay now.

I struggled earlier also. But when you get out here, it's totally different from practice. I'm not good with starts and so I knew I had to get it all right.

For me I understand why people wanted me to win but I wanted to do it for myself also. It was a big deal.

Guy is running his fastest times ever, in his early 30s.

After a couple drug suspensions so you know he's clean now, surely learned his lesson.

Great natural athlete.

About two months ago I ran into Justin Gatlin at a gas station.  He was looking at my car and I was looking at his.  He came over and asked me about it.  He was driving a red Cadillac Escalade EXT with red rims on it.  The front license plate said "Juice" on it I remember.

No it was him.  I recognized him and he also had Gatlin written on one window very small.

He was very nice.  Not a typical Hebrew in most respects.

Looked like an in shape person and not huge or anything.  Like a casual lifter in really good shape.  A physique most would call "skinny".  Lifters and morons who don't lift alike.

Bolt stumbled on semi-final and still won that heat!
To me that was more impressive than winning the finals.

How much you think it costs in times to run semi-final and final within hours of each other?

Are you high ???  No it's not at all.  Look up the age of nearly every record-holder.

- Bob Hayes was 22
- Jim Hines was 22
- Charles Greene was 23
- Calvin Smith was 22
- Ben Johnson was 26
- Carl Lewis was 26
- Leroy Burrell was 24
- Donavan Bailey was 29
- Maurice Greene was 25
- Tim Montgomery was 27

That's so funny to me.  It's so easy to just pop off bullshit on the Internet. I bought it.  Didn't seem so outrageous.

They've done studies to show that Jesse Owens would be right up there with Bolt if he was running on the same surface.

He will reply and try to shift the goalposts but it's a fact that people set this record (i.e. are the best sprinter in recorded history) in their 20s then decline.

Why is Bolt not running 9.6 anymore, for example ??? ??? He's almost 30, should be "peaking" according to Adonis.

Here is the ages of the field today:

1. Bolt 29
2. Gatlin 33
3. Trayvon (:D) Bromell 20
4. Andre De Grasse 20
5. Mike Rodgers 30
6. Tyson Gay 33
7. Asafa Powell 32
8. Jimmy Vicaut 23

Hey Adonis what are all those 20-somethings doing here?  Why are the 30-somethings not smoking them in the qualifying heats ???

Funny how the only ones over 30 in this group have all been suspended at least once for drugs.

Did you lock all the doors and wind up the windows when he came over?
