You're wasting your time arguing ND. Conker, like most Europeans, come from generations of slave mentality where the citizens "rights" were given to them by Kings and Popes and could be arbitrarily taken away.
The Constitution doesn't bestow "rights" on Americans, Conker. It bestows the power of the government to protect the "natural" rights of man. These are rights that come with you just being born on this planet. The right of free speech, self defense, etc. are a breathtaking step forward in human philosophy and supersede any human made institution's right of "force".
Your example where the lawmakers could amend the Constitution to revoke the 2nd amendment won't work because the very law they pass is illegal on its face. It would be no different they if they passed a law removing Free Speech or the right to be secure in your property. The very passing of the law would render that political body invalid. The next steps would be for the people to dissolve that government and elect a new one that better understands the limits of the Constitution.
Europeans suffer under a caste system...even in the most "progressive" countries. They still don't really understand the historical significance of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.
What a load of bollocks, natural rights dont exist, rights are something that are created by men and upheld by men, your rights are what other men decide they are.
And as for passing laws that are illegal, how dumb a statement is that, if a law is passed its legal, the collective decides what is legal or illegal.
A law could be passed tomorrow to make everyone shave their beards off, if enough people agree with it and it can be enforced then no more beards, its the law.
