Family Values: Melissa was pregnant with
Craig's baby, and she was preparing to have it.
The announcement was made, and all Hell
broke loose.

Girl's-Will-Be Girl's: Kelly had taken a loan
out in Melissa's name. (Loan Officer's Trick:
a "stated loan".) Melissa found out about it, and a
catfight ensued.

The Wild Monkey: After a hard workout, Craig likes sex.
One desert day, he scheduled his favorite girl
for "some cardio". To the loud sound of Queen's
"Another One Bites the Dust", he rode her
just a tad too hard.

The Mafia Did It: Melissa was kicked out
after Kelly discovered that Craig had actually
authorized her credit card expenditures!
Needing a fix, Melissa contacted Mr. Big Stuff
for some relief. But then she started talking just
a little too much, about stuff she should've never
known. So they took her breath away, attacked
her in many wacky drug-addled ways, and left her
burning on a deserted road in Kelly's car;
a strategy that would take 'em all down.

Maybe there was some truth to Melissa doing them wrong in some way. (stealing money, identity theft or whatever) The confrontation gets way out of had and Melissa fires back that she's going the the feds with whatever dirt she has on Craig&Kelly like steroids or whatever. Craig then jumps into he's not going back to prison mode and then things go real bad from there.

What's wrong with the way the thread was started? See that question mark in the subject? He's asking for people to give plausible motives. He doesn't have to have one to ask what others are thinking.
