My wife and I are wrapping up the first season as I speak. It's a fantastic show, intellectually stimulating and great cast, my own draw back is that frank might be bisexual which I don't really care for... Seems like a meaningless attempt to play to modern time.
The fact that he's bisexual is merely a plot device to mirror the cover-ups that are the lives of real politicians.

The BBC produced three series("seasons" for Yanks).The first part of the trilogy from 1990 was immense and really captured the essence of British Westminster politics, after Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was toppled from power.
