Like or Dislike: common back machine

I have always found this type of T-Bar row to be akward. I always preferred the feel of the Olympic bar wedged in a corner for t-bar rows

I prefer the same. I find because I'm tall, the platforms are never bug enough, once I get more weight on the thing pulls me forwards.

Never saw the point. Bb rows do a much better job and fully exhaust the lats, what else you need?

I used to workout at this gym in New York called Synergy and they had one of those that could only accomodate 35lb  plates. If you used 45lb, they'd smash you in face. It was weird because it's a real bodybuilding gym. Pros train there.

I just prefer bent over barbell rows to tbar rows, machine or otherwise. It's funny that OP says he prefers using the barbell setup because whenever I see that I'm always like "Why does this jackass have to call attention to himself and hog one of the precious bars? Just use the goddamn tbar machine!" I get that different setups just feel better, though.

Don't like any row that forces the bar path rather than being able to pull in the pathway that suits you

I actually like it cause I'm tall and the handle sits above the bar so I feel a much better range of motion than the ol bar in a corner.

I've only ever tried 2, and both gave the same issue. I have used one of the chest pad ones, that I did love.

u queers probably put too much weight on a T-bar. 95% of the people that use that machine do shrugs on it cause their body compensates. U need to have a really strong core to properly perform the row.

Chest Supported one in my gym smashes my schlong so I have to put my feet on the floor, end up using too much body English. So what I've done is turn around an adjustable incline bench and lay on it chest down and do barbell rows that way.

I don't ever use a belt.

If the weight gets to heavy... I just lighten it up. But I never wear a belt.

I cobbled this thing together with a flat bench and two mismatched plyo boxes.

The perfect height for me for chest supported barbell rows.

There's no optimum contraction because of the plates.

It's surprisingly solid. Sometimes, I like to do with FatGripz™ on the bar for added brute arm strength.

I prefer barbell or dumbbell rows to the T-Bar variety.  We have one at the gym but I have only used it a few times.  It just doesn't feel right so I do my rows in the Smith Machine whenever I can.  It doesn't hurt and that's important to me.

Years ago I did them at home with a 2 inch bar.  Tried to move to a 3 inch  but no way.  Gave up thick bar training as my joints can no longer take it.
