2015 Olympia - I told you all this Amazon webcast stuff was BS
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:03:37 AM »
No, Amazon prime is not carrying the Mr. Olympia and isn't involved in it in any way.   Gonna be the same old shitty webcast stuff it looks like.  Amazon is only involved as a sponsor via "Amazon Sports Nutirition".  From the official Mr. O website:

"If you can't make it to Vegas in person, you can still get it on all the action and not miss a beat, as FLEXonline.com delivers a live stream of the main events, brought to you exclusively by Amazon.com.  -

Back in the day, you could still see BB'ing on ESPN from time to time. American Muscle Magazine was a shmoe-favorite for me. Not any more! Is there any muscle left on regular TV or has it all been shuffled to various fetish outlets?

Yep, no way any respectable company would want to be involved with what it is now.  Frankly I'm shocked Kai even gets a drop of ball sweat from ESPN.

And to all you "insiders" who were telling me that there was no money in bodybuilding, scroll down the main page and look at the list of supplement company sponsors that are all ripping off and exploiting the pro male Bodybuilders that are the core of the event.

It's akin to the movies where billionaires gather at an art gala (bodybuilding event) to display art (bodybuilders) but the real deals are going down behind the scenes with human trafficking and international crime (supplement scams).

American Muscle Magazine and Vince's WBF Bodystars  ;D
I remember that stuff. And Flex Magazine workout with Shawn Ray, Zane, Haney and others...
In all of their spandex glory.  ::)

What are you talking about? The webcast will be run by professional people, just like bb.com had it, who areinvolved in bringing us the webcast for free.    I wish bb.com was there but Amazon is now sponsoring it, and Flexonline is the outlet for it.

None of it is BS

"On Friday September 18th and Saturday September 19th, the greatest bodybuilding event in the world, the 2015 Olympia, will take place in Las Vegas, NV! For a bodybuilding enthusiast, there is no better place to be than alongside the thousands of fans who will fill the Orleans arena, cheering on your favorite Open & 212 Bodybuilding, Figure, Fitness, and Bikini athletes. If you can't make it to Vegas in person, you can still get it on all the action and not miss a beat, as FLEXonline.com delivers a live stream of the main events, brought to you exclusively by Amazon.com."

That is an outright lie.

The sport peaked 15+ years ago.

The thread a couple of weeks back was about it being in Amazon Prime.  It ain't.  Everyone was talking about having to subscribe to Amazon Prime, which made me question whether someone at Amazon thought it might be able to draw a wider audience.  It won't.  Just the same old cruddy webcast of which I am thankful, crummy camera work and fart powder of the year and all.

I got my hopes up thinking there might be a glimmer of professionalization.

No, someone basically heard a rumor and posted that it would cost money to see the Olympia on webcast. It wasn't true and it was cleared pretty quickly.  The webcast is free.
