well i think itīs more about training properly and under qualified supervision. Most of us started training at home in a Basement or in a Garage with some free weights and maybe a home made Bench. The article is more pointing out the lack of supervision in some or most Gyms by Trainers. there is truth to the fact a lot of young men train wrongly, thus making future problems. I have seen this myself in the Gym. This Trainer showed me this and that..and the end result was joint pain/inflammation of soft structures.

Couldn't you say anything you do incorrectly as a youth could lead to future problems as an adult? What if they had a coach who preached physicality in their respective sport (be it soccer, rugby, lacrosse or whatever). I mean anything is potentially bad, not everyone is built to sprint or run marathons or lift heavy weights.

Blaming an inattentive trainer is like blaming Coke or Hersey for having unhealthy snacks that cause diabetes because you consumed to much.
