Classic bodybuilding is gone because they were only using steroids with hard training and dieting. A certain look is developed from the drugs you use so unless people stop using GH and insulin they would all look smooth as babies asses

Maybe.

But the judges reward it.

It's not like bodybuilders are going up to judges and calling the shots.

I mean shit, even the fans don't like it. Bodybuilding has been on the decline for decades now.  :'(

From what I've seen it doesn't produce the kind of physiques that you are all lusting after... Its usualy the runts who havnt got the genes to do open classes.  If they got rid of the men's bikini class and replaced it with this it would make more sense

these guys seem to have the genetics.

could be something great hopefully.
no lat spread post front or back, no most muscular and side tricep poses as mandatory either.
as said it's front double bicep, rear double bicep, abs and thigh, side chest and classic pose of choice.
plus old style spandex trunks to hide glutes.
definitely going for the golden era feel.

i think we'll see guys like Sergio Oliva Jr, Calum Von Moger, maybe Ulisses Williams jr and Jaco Bruyn too.
but i think a lot of the ifbb amateur worlds competitors will enter this.
hope it takes off and rivals the men's open, need to turn bodybuilding back into an artform rather than a freak show!

yeah, just seen his contest weight is around 250 at 6'0.
thought it was around 230
he'd have to over 30lbs.

they should increase the weight restrictions a bit i think and just put more emphasis on the judging criteria.

Which is the way every bodybuilder should be like, aesthetic and with a thin waist.

"1"
100% and i agree Bob Paris was and is an ideal role model.

Men's Bodybuilding has always been muscularity vs. symmetry.   It is hard to accomplish both, although quite a few bodybuilders did it (aka Flex Wheeler)

But, we have a ton of fans that want to mass monsters, aka the Mr. Olympia.  A lot of fans that believe that these guys are the ultimate form of bodybulders. Markus Ruhl, Dennis Wolf, Phil Heath, Kai Greene.  These are the guys that draw the hardcore fans.

But, Classic Bodybuilding is the days of classic poses, where symmetry ruled, not muscularity.  There are fans for both.

Funny, when I am backstage sometimes, and I ask some of the modern bodybuilders (usually amateurs) to give me a classic pose, many of them have a hard time on it, as they don't practice on them.  (Think of Arnold poses)

To everyone who has referenced Bob Paris as a perfect example of classic bodybuilding- please turn off your computer and go back to bed, you're clearly dreaming.

Bob Paris had a once-in-a-lifetime, completely unobtainable physique. He never won a single IFBB Pro show and his last victory was in July, 1983- yet he is still talked about daily.

Nobody, and I mean nobody can look like Bob Paris other than... Bob Paris.

They're going to have to change the weight requirements. Much too low.

Nope...That's where the problems start. Those weights will keep drug use to a moderate amount in a lot of cases...It should also keep the balloon legs in check and will keep the belly in check...

And they will create yet another division. Most people I know think this ie great and I do too but I think this is what the open bodybuilding should look like. People keep saying everyone wants to see mass monsters. Who would that be? The people who come to the Olympia? Other than that unless there's an NPC event going on, other than the Arnold which pro bodybuilding show are a sell out and highly attended

You are right he was great.

However, we simply don't see anything close to that on stage today because the judges would never even give that person a pro card. The person who wants to look like this would give up bodybuilding before abusing their body to the point where they could mutate into a mass monster.

I think GOKU is pretty damn accurate concerning  Calum Von Moger, Ulisses Williams jr, and Jaco Bruyn., but definitely not Oliva, Jr.

And add to that 'lineup" Panda and definitely Sergi Constance.

I would not be too damn surprised if this this new division was initiated due to their popularity.

It's interesting to note that a European friend said that the biggest lineup at one of the major fitness expos was for the likes of Constance and Jeff Seid.

I realize that there is a lot of 'dis-like' for Jeff, but my only concern is ... "Why is he held in such high esteem within the Physique empire?"

I am not familiar this "height" and "weight" requirement and have no knowledge  regarding the height and weight of the above named individuals but it would be interesting if some knowledgeable GetBigger (WIGGS???!!!) could do some Height and weight research and name those individuals within the game who could decently represent that criteria..... Namely Ulysses, Panda, Constance, Van Bruyn, and Von Moger.

And any other up and coming new division threat.

Thanks.

COACH, You complained about sitting through an 8 hour prejudging session .... and I would agree if I had to do so ....

BUT ....There ain't too many stay that long. Even the judges take a break.

Most of the fans, gym and family members only stay during the event that they are interested in seeing, so most would only be sitting there for two hours max.

Once that event is over, they get up and leave and new fans, etc., fill those seats.

I don't have any stats to prove this but I have a strong feeling that the audience is actually a 2X to 3X turnover which definitely is ideal for the promoter.

The important  thing here is that the promoter should make every effort to let one and all (competitors and audience alike) know the approximate times each prejudging class/event will start.

That's harder said than done but  if computed accurately ... it would be of great benefit for one and all.

And no one would have to sit on their ass for 8 hours waiting for the fat lady to sing.
