Nobody knows exactly what they would do. It's all fight or flight...It would be your subconscious that takes over. A younger healthier human with empathy would think of the human first. But if fear seeps in at any moment, that could change things and make a person possibly choose the easier route which could be the dog...But that move will be riddled with guilt for the rest of your life(again only if you aren't a sociopath)...

Your soul will feel better saving them and then subconsciously holding that over them. No person who has empathy could handle watching someone burn to death without feeling guilt the rest of your life...Better off being the "hero" and letting them have to deal with the fact that you saved them...

every person would save the human (unless it was their own dog or they hated the person) its a human instinct to save other humans first over anything, hard to explain, probably goes to caveman days. Same principle as when you get huge sense of guilt for no reason when you kill someone, hard to explain.

I used to believe this, then I started paying closer attention to humanity.

I understand humanity... ive seen the worst of it, I get why you would qualify your response based onthat logic. i chose my career based on that logic. Id still save the human. I think if you were ever in the position you would too without a second thought.
