Lots and lots of drop-ins indeed. We always remembered the cool cats. There was never any pressure to charge daily visitors the $15 daily fee.  All other Gold's members were always free of course. If one employee gave you the "thumbs up" every other employee was supposed to just wave you right through.

We sold around $8,000 per day in memberships only, so we tried not to nickel & dime everybody.

wow, crazy!! huge revenue!!  he told us to say we were from Seattle and Gold's members there. there was no Golds in Calgary at the time.  I think he said Kent Keuhn(sp?) was the hard ass about paying. was he still around then, or am I thinking of someone else?

Big $$ indeed.

Yes, Kent Kuehn was there. Kent was totally cool and very funny. He was always nervous about letting people in for free and would frequently call one of us over for "authorization."  I would always tell him, 'Kent if you want to let them in then your word is good enough. It's always cool.'  He just seemed nervous about letting guys slide.

Kent trained with Arnold during Arnold's prep for Pumping Iron. Pretty cool.

When I went it was 8 bucks a day. Then it went up to 15. By then I was training for free at World because I knew Eddie. I just had to avoid Joe Gold!
