why not?  ???

I don't really conceal carry anymore, unless i'm traveling . My job doesn't allow guns on their property.

Agreed.  I have also have the Shield in 9mm. It's my EDC except for days I want to wear dress clothes or shorts.  Then the 380.  Both guns function flawlessly and eat ammo with no problems.  Neither trigger is fantastic but I hear the aftermarket kits are superb.

I've read that many times - why the fame... combination of ammo cost, reliability, firing power or did the Weiders promote it?

Summer gun is the LCP in .380 with the Crimson Trace. It'll probably take all 7 rounds to stop somebody, but it sure is thin and light.

It's partially justified and partially just the John Moses Browning bigotry of gun owners. The 1911 is big, relatively heavy "single stack" (read: holds less ammo) that shoots a big bullet. It's quintessentially American: overweight, made of solid steel, with a small number of haymakers.

That said, the shootability of the platform is great. The barrel axis (how low the barrel sits in relation to your wrist) is very low and that makes for much more controllable recoil. Only the Glock comes close these days.

It's not a beginner's gun, as there are a lot of controls on it that beginners can forget. I shot a comp with mine and forgot to disengage the manual safety out of the holster. Cost me more than a second. I wasn't gonna win anyway, but that was embarrassing.

Unconstitutional.  If guns aren't allowed then the only people who will be allowed to have them are outlaws.

You don't have the right as a civilian with a carry permit to enter private property that restricts firearms. If a business has a sign that says no firearms you are breaking the law if you enter with a gun.

I too miss the touch of my beloved firearm.  Knowing that it's always there to take care of me.  Sleeping with me, close by, keeping me safe.  Ohhhhhh, how I miss her dearly.  We had a relationship that cannot be described in words.   :'(

Been studying this gun, thinking of getting one. It's cheap, Ruger is dependable and it's something easy to carry, even in summer when not much clothes are worn (no homo)

I talke it you recommend the LCP?

Is the entire Bill of Rights voided once you're on someone's land or just #2?  Can I post "US law does not apply within this property's boundaries?"

He's right. Private property owners can forbid it. He's incorrect that it is de facto illegal. If you carry a gun on private property that is posted against it, the best the property owner can do is sue you for trespass, as your invitation was essentially revoked when you broke his posted rules.

With all the usual caveats about the inherent weakness of the .380 round and the 6+1 capacity, sure. It's not something that you'll want in a prolonged firefight. Think of it as your "shoot your way to a better gun" gun. I used to carry a Seecamp .32 as my summer gun. Talk about limitations! The only gunfight that thing can be effective is a gunfight in an elevator.
