Personally, I'm a big fan of the Sig P229 .357

I have one and was a big fan until I had my "big Glock epiphany". Now I primarily carry a Glock 33 in .357 Sig. The G33 is like 1/2 the weight for almost the same capacity.

A fine concealed weapon   ::)

Weighs a ton, is the size of a VW Microbus and has a whopping 6-shot capacity, each with the approximate stopping power of a 10mm.

The 5-shot Model 60 is much more concealable than that beast. But who the fuck CCW's a wheelgun any more?

A quick lookup of it makes it kind of interesting.

I shall test shoot one ASAP.

Admit it, you're not really worried about it being very "concealed".

Eh... if you can't shut it down in 2 shots, you're just missing a lot anyway.

Tis a bit more stressful if the targets are shooting back. The best average about 1:4. I prefer reserve and a spare mag or two. Good luck with your "2 and out" there, Icewater.

I keep going to drills and hopefully still won't have to find out.

Not me, man. I train with what I shoot and shoot with what I train. Takes a while to get reactive muscle memory with anything. I don't want to fuck around with that. It took me a lot of time to make the decision to move away from Sigs to Glocks.

I love the P226. That would be my choice if i was in the U.S

Aesthetically beautiful gun. I have a couple.

Heavy as fuck compared to the same package in Glock.

Yeah i love the look. I've heard many people switch to Glocks now as their preferred choice. The Glock 17 started to get used widely in the UK a few years ago, to replace the Browning.

I feel like a traitor, because the Sig factory is about 45 minutes away in Epping, NH. They have a fantastic training facility there and always have LEO and SOCOM military cycling through. It's the home of the infamous "killhouse" where I took a bullet in training. Grumble. The guy the discharged the round didn't feel too bad about it either.

haha, i heard a story from a guy who took a 9mm round from a sig over here. He got shot in the bicep by accident. The guy that did it went "sorry mate, did i just shoot you?" and he just looked at his arm and said "um, yeah i think so". most uneventful shooting ever.

Packs a whollop.

That's because the Glock is cheaper than comparable products and also outdated design-wise.

Hey Aj, how does the .357sig works? Is the G33 reliable? How do you compare the caliber with a classic 9mm, .40 and .45? Always intrigued me...

Ultimate handgun - ( not pistol) , but revolver was the Colt Python- the "Rolls Royce'' of wheel guns, .357 MAGNUM,
The Anaconda was a great .44 mag, right up there with the model 29 S/W and Ruger Red hawk , the Black hawk is a great single action .44
Something about a nice revolver instead of a pistol ....

I like pistols more somehow.
Especially the Walther PPK.
