I honestly don't see any relevance of this shit. They have found liquid water boo hoo, so what? We have plenty of it here on earth, why the hell someone is spending blillions on searching for it in a fukkin Mars? How about spending these billions on cleaning earths oceans from plastic bottles for ex?

I don't think it will change anything for religious nuts. Pursuit of science is good, but it's pretty much futile in this case, imho.

I'm genuinely curious about the unrelated comments I highlighted in red.  Are they merely a "troll job" to rile up theists?  I'm very interested to understand NASA's findings, but never once did I think to insult anyone given that interest.  What prompted you two to capriciously insult theists and interject a religious perspective?  At this point, we don't know what the specific announcement is LOL.  NASA already discovered ice at the poles of Mars and it's apparent that river like formations are presented on the surface.

Christianity is a non-works based religion as opposed to all other religions that are works-based and/or "of the occult"/demonic in nature.   The life, death and resurrection of Christ is powerful to distinguish it.  The Holy Spirit of God within believers today is powerful as well.  Hinduisim, Buddhism, Islam, Catholicism, Mormonism, JW's, Cults of Osiris, Horus, etc....have nothing like Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to distinguish them.  That's quick and dirty....I'd take anything else to the religion board if there's genuine interest.

I never understood this way of thinking. Why do we always search for signs of life by using earth's organisms and eco system as the default basis? Why do we assume that aliens would need oxygen or water, or any type of climate that humans would deem habitable?

If aliens exist, and have the technology to traverse the universe, then they would have the capability to be able to survive anywhere.
