Man, I'm not calling out the gun grabbing politicians(okay, I am), but do any of you anti gun folks think the first thing to do, before all of the victims have even died, is to get out with your bullhorn calling for gun control? What happened to letting the family grieve and having sympathy for the victim? Why is it always an opportunity for these politicians(either side).

There are no stricter gun control laws in the nations than Chicago. At one point they outlawed the sale of firearms in the entire city. In 2014 they had 2587 shootings. Mainly black victims and what is known of the shooters mainly black. Where are the protests? No, the protests are reserved for guys that rob stores through intimidation who attack a cop trying to make an arrest on a 300lbs 18 year old with a prior arrest record.

This year they are up to 2332 shootings and it's the beginning of October. Where is the liberal press on this? They couldn't be less interested because it hurts the liberal agenda knowing Democrats run Chicago politics. Most of the guns involved in these mass shooting were legally obtained. The US is third in the world in murders. If you take out Democratic controlled cities like Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, and Washington DC we are forth from the bottom.

You are right about one thing, gun control wouldn't inhibit criminals from acquiring guns. Laws mean nothing to these people.

BUT some criminals - those with felony records who cannot buy guns - DO purchase guns in private sales. In the USA, these sales are 100% LEGAL without any kind of background check, receipt, etc. A man can approach me in his prison orange, 5 minutes after getting out, and I can legally sell him a gun. Crazy, huh?

That is the gun show loophole that many are trying to change. Dudes buy an AR-15 for $1000, then walk around gun show with sign saying "$1500 private sale" and sell it to anyone who wants one.

Think about a person willing to pay that kind of markup - because they cannot get it legally!

That loophole is a bad one, and makes no sense. yet some scream about it.
