The unnamed teen described 30-year-old Caroline Berriman’s punishment as ‘disgusting’. She recently walked free and was handed 250 hours of community service, as well as being sacked from her job at Abraham Moss in Manchester.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, the boy, now 17, said: “I think it’s disgusting and I want people to understand that even though they might not have seen what happened, I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.”
He went on to describe how the pair would regularly spend time together at Berriman’s home, and when apart, would constantly call and text each other.
He continued: “I just started by just going there talking, watching TV, chilling out. Then I started going four or five days a week.”
When asked if he fancied Berriman, he said: “At the time, yeah. She made me feel like I was special.”
Then, when asked about the first time he became intimate with his tutor, he said: “She put her arm around me and she kissed me and I kissed her back and things led on to sexual stuff.”
He went on to speak about how he confessed about the relationship to his mum, who told him he had to end it immediately. This eventually led to Berriman being outed and sacked from her job following a suspension.
During the end of the interview, the boy went on to describe how the relationship has since affected his life and wellbeing, stating: “I can’t look at a girl. I can’t stay in the same room as a woman unless they are older, like 40, 50.”
He continued: “My confidence is broken, I’ve got no confidence no more. I used to be confident and have girlfriends and that’s just shattered.”
