I think Dan made an adequate pro, and assuming he wanted to continue to do what it takes gear-wise, he could have improved. It is pretty obvious now that he has stopped using everything, so most likely he simply did not want to go "all in" in terms of gear usage. He told me himself that he felt pretty toxic at 270.

Form or not, he was also pretty strong:

I hate to say it but at his best that was all I could hope to look like if I was a druggie. Talk about damning someone with faint praise, huh? Drugs will make you bigger and stronger but they won't change your DNA. Anytime I even think about taking them damn stayroids, I just look at a pic of Big Down Hill and that's that. No freakin' way I want to risk my life to look like that.
