The way it is, there is no accountability. Shawn can say he thinks Arnold might show up. With no contractual requirements, he can say anything. Imagine buying concert tickets for a show in your town, not knowing if you'd be seeing the Beatles or some garage band- it's just whoever decides to show up that day!

In any other event- athletic events, concerts, etc, performers are required to sign commitments ahead of time. What it no one feels like coming out? Fans might spend a lot of money to see big names and might have last year's NY Pro on their hands.

It just seems irresponsible for Shawn to say "Athletes that want to compete will, those that do not want to wont" while still using their names to sell tickets. Listing that many guys who have mentioned the might do it... well, it wouldn't fly anywhere else in the world. Then again, this is BBing, so things are usually different...

I thought your main concern with this show was that you thought something wasn't right with the Hummer sweepstake?

What's your take on that situation these days?

I'm no fan of 240, he clearly spends too much time on this board - but he raises a valid point regarding the advertising of a specific list of competitors and securing ticket sales on the back of it and then subsequent doubts as to who will compete. His concerns are perfectly fair. If those who end up competing are as advertised from the start of the promotion - and hopefully some more too - then great, but if not and people have paid good money for tickets then they would have a right to feel short-changed. The way Shawn has been so defensive clearly raises questions as to who will indeed turn up.

Yeah, I think Phil Heath will probably be the most interesting guy to watch over the next 3 years. Luke is a nice guy, but just can't yet nail conditioning and size at once.

I unfortunatley will not be competing in the Colorado pro. I am focusing on the NY. My first 2 weeks were messed right up with a viral infection and i stayed in bed and did'nt eat or train. I am back on track now and with 10 weeks until NY i am confident i can repeat last years perfomance but 2 or 3 places higher and about 8lbs heavier.

I know I'll be in New York supporting Weinberger Show too!

Are you sure the Big Ruhl will compete at the Shawn Ray Classic? His webiste suggests he's putting everything into the Atlantic City GP the weekend before the Olympia. The Colarado and Atlantic seem fairly distant from each other on the schedual . . .
