Ur r correct as to say too much theory and academia

He’s not a good song writer

Him and Jeff Loomis get too caught up in well... being technical

See, to my thinking, Loomis can create facetearing riffs for days. His Nevermore material is legend.

You should wear a Jesus is Lord t-shirt to a Mercyful Fate concert. ;D

The musicianship on Kink Diamond and Mercyful Fate albums is awesome. Add in King's unique vocal style and you have a winning combo!

Obituary's Cause of Death is an epic, American death metal album. Between them, Death and Deicide, some of the best heavy music from America.

Can't get into any heavy bands with chick lead singers. Just never works.

Maiden just released a new live album, in case any Maiden fans missed that.

Iron Maiden score their highest charting live album in 27 years with 'Nights of the Dead'

Saxon is a legendary English heavy metal band. Its last several efforts have been amongst its best. Shocking, really. Maiden can’t say the same.

Wait, are we talking about fake metal like pantera, lamb of god and testament or REAL metal like Warrant, Winger and White Lion?

Jeff is so awesome. It pains me that with Warrel Dane gone Nevermore will never be again.

The other day I was jamming Sanctuary’s debut, Refuge Denied (produced by Mustaine!). Martin Popoff was correct when he once wrote (and I paraphrase), Dane was a shriekhawk from hell. LOL

I still marvel at the alien riffing of prime Loomis. Really, his influence in this area can be heard everywhere these days.

Metal is rock’s greatest creation. The scope of its substyles is dramatic.

Nothing wrong with those bands, but come on, would be nice to see a real discussion of metal continue with fellow metalheads without stupid comments.

I bought the deluxe version.

Listened once then it was placed for presentation.

No one needs another live Maiden album. LOL But for those of us who collect/are completists ...

I will say this. It’s cool to have a live rendition of “Sign of the Cross”, my fave Blaze-era tune.

I often get sad when a Warrant song comes on. Singer died alone in a hotel room. Not a way to go.

I've gotten turned on to some newer bands listening to Octane on Sirius. Definitely some cool songs here and there, but I can't say I like their entire catalogs.

And bodybuilding related because the motel/hotel in which he died was in the same area as the Weider headquarters.

Very similar to some of the bands I posted. Definitely taking some things from Linkin Park.

These bands ... again not bad ... some catchy tunes ... but not that deep of catalog.

Stuck in the past? As said, I buy several new releases a WEEK. Many from very recently-formed bands.

And that song you posted is very emo-ghey.

I know a lot of people sing the praises of Gojira, but I can't get into them (I've seen them live, too). To me, they're a wall of sound. Maybe I need more time.

Shit is whiney “metal” for young emo-type SJW people not into metal.

Embarrassing menstruation rock.
