Not sure whether this has already been addressed, but the sodium content is a lot lower, something that matters to a great deal of people. I only began eating copious amounts of added salt pretty late in life, but many people younger than me are still seeking ways to limit their intake.
The meats are all previously frozen, so the quality of the proteins is pretty much identical.
But apart from sodium, another primary difference is that the boutique meals are being prepared twice a week in most cases, so the vegetables are going to be fresher.
That said, paying $7-8 for a $1.25 (retail) meal
6x a day is something most people would be absolutely foolish to do.
It's worth it to me, however, to have a meal delivery service, because of those yoga pants she wears when she drops by.
