maybe you have no friends? I use it to keep in contact with friends in Scotland and other friends around the Globe. Some people use it for business purposes.

Myspace was too busy. I didn't do much social media when that battle was going down. But years ago you load up someone's myspace and your speakers go off -- never enjoyable -- and then your computer grinds to a halt as it loads up 5 pages worth of flashy gif's and photos.

Facebook actually serves a valuable function which essentially is to connect people. After that comes the whole "show off" every aspect of your life.

I mainly use fb for subscribtions of various on-line mags that I read. Good for picking up chicks and of course making other people jealous and angry (these who have it worse than you do), the later is pretty much a basis of fb. A good way of contacting some people too, obviously. Yet I've never understood the satisfaction of posting all the private details of ones life, never posted anything too private myself, nor I will, as I like my privacy which is becoming harder to keep and it just makes no sense in general.

I dont totally agree that FB is a waste. I have made many connections to people in my field and have learned a lot!!! The chances of me meeting these people without the internet would be slim to none. The internet has its place when its used appropriately and with due diligence.

If you use it for networking then thats great but majority is a bunch of duckface assholes talking about pointless drivel from what ive seen and heard.

Correct. The idea is to build up an Facebook page the looks good for companies researching you. Not to post random shots of you doing titty shots off an ugly ass stripper in Vegas.

This. It was better in the beginning. I had Facebook in college when you had to have an edu suffix on the address, and then just kept it. Then, like you said, MySpace seemed so juvinille. It just became dorky. I don't do either now as an adult.
