If Saddam is exactly as he's been introduced and shown to us through media, then I'd say you're right.
But at the same time, IF everything is as represented, then Saddam wouldn't be doing himself any favors by attempting to do as you say. Whatever fleeting moments of narcissism he could get in, surely couldn't seem worth the consequences.

I willing( and unknowingly) accepted media propaganda as truth. I had forgotten Sadam was once respected in the states, he was given the key to the city of Detroit. When he doesn't fill our needs he is then an evil tyrant.
