Lifting heavy as you can with good form = best results.. because you're hitting the muscle correctly and it's at the max capacity you can do it...You're not challenging yourself as much if you aren't at your max capacity and going beyond failure in a set...Why would you ever need more than 1 working set if you've already torn down the muscle after an exercise?? Nothing is written in stone but just for the record: Charles Glass "pump workouts" never won anyone the olympia...

What about cutler and Heath? Neither of them train crazy heavy

Doesn't matter if you're training a little lighter if you've been training for over 20 years on tons of AAS, GH + insulin...(in Phils case a lot of insulin) but if you've been lifting for a few years and are continuing to up your dosages + wanting to build size in limited off-season in the most efficient way possible...This is the way to do it...You can build the same amount of muscle with a little lighter and a few more reps per set...But i don't think it's ideal or it's optimal...Can get better results in literally a shorter period of time this way...Less reps, less gym time, more rest, more growth.

he can now coz he built all his size from heavy training years before and now he's just maintaining what he built from that heavy hard training, which is i fact a hell of alot easier than gaining and doesn't require nearly as much effort

I don't know about that comment about Jay. Almost winning the olympia doesn't count..Arnolds don't count...Jays documentary says he always trains as heavy as possible... And I'm almost 100% sure that Dex hired Glass to train him AFTER he won 2008 mr olympia...In fact a couple years after i believe...
There have been Jay's vids posted on here. Jay is a pumper...his chest workouts, etc. And his back workouts are laughable---there is a meme on here for his lack pull up ability, but that is different.
Jay's "heavy as possible" is a misnomer, it should be "heavy as i want to go that day to get a pump"
