Author Topic: How About Couples Physique? (Read 2689 times)

To any of you Getbiggers close to the high echelon at the NPC, I have a suggestion on how to make bodybuilding contests longer and more boring: add a "Couples Physique" category.

Some of you old-timers you might remember that once upon a brief time, there was a "Couples Bodybuilding" category, where a guy and a girl would come out and pose together. This could be freshend up with the Physique contestants, where a Physique guy and a Physique gal could come out and pose together.

And it could be broadened in our modern climate with not only male/female couples, but male/male, and female/female.

It was called mixed pairs. I liked it.

The last Mixed Pairts event I saw was when Jeff and Cory Everson won the Mixed Pairs title ( at least I 'THINK' they won it).

That was among the years when baby oil was used to bring out the muscular highlights, and Cory slid from the top of a pose in which Jeff held her overhead ..... all the way to the bottom on the bare-assed floor.

But they made it look pretty damn graceful nonetheless.

Other than that ... all was well .... Until the party that nite.

And then it got even 'weller"!

I think that was the same year when Tim Belnap won the overall title.

And he won that title held in Caesars Palace in as Vegas

And Gary Leonard had won the overall title the previous year and worked in the Caesars Palace Spa in Lake Tahoe.

And the wildest party I (including all of us) ever attended was held in one of the CP penthouses with every old timer you ever heard of in attendance.

But Mr Muscle Beach was nowhere to be seen that day/night.

"Where the hell were you, MB?"

But it was difficult tot see anyone who was more than ten feet away due to all the smokey smoke.

And we all (most of us) ended up in the front entrance Caesars pool thinking that we had found a shortcut to a casino across the street.

And that was the only time I was literally evicted from a Las Vegas casino by not one, not two, but by three oversized 'goons' who did that for a living.

One managed to say, "Sorry but we have to do this! You're having too much fun!"

And it proceeded to get even funner ... but I forget all those details.

Those were the best-est days within the bodybuilding world .... and no one who attended that party would ever disagree.

There is a void for new classes to make shows longer and more boring...

I bet they will make it happen as it will bring them more money in sanction fee's...

When I first became interested in weight training and bodybuilding, mixed pairs competition was on its way out.

It was super useless and should never return to being a thing.

Yeah, watching video of mother and son gracefully posing their muscles wearing thongs is kind of gross, for sure.
