imagine NFL owners being able to select and hire their own referees.
but the sport of BBing is so small, the same people that own gyms, run shows, train people - they are bringing all of the $ into the sport and working tons for it... so if their 'athlete' wins the biggest plastic trophy in a local high school gym show on a saturday afternoon, what's the big deal?
If you want to train and prep competitors fine, don't judge the competition. Common sense... The competitor is then prepared according to the judge's ideal, emotional connection is generated or any connection that may stem from intensive communication and advice.
The big deal is that the other competitors have spent night and day trying to present the best possible physique. Invested a huge amount of financial, emotional and physical exertion. Put a toll on their health (mental and physical), relationships, work and time resources.
"Plastic trophy" or any other demeaning connotations aside for many if not all competitors, this is their life's work. Some may be at the local level for a variety of reasons, that doesn't discount their passion, dedication and concerned effort. I think competitors deserve impartial judging, at the very least controlling factors which obviously could create impartiality.
