what do U think of that brand? I've used their whey before
^^
They DO make the most hardcore Aminos (at least they did back in the day), and AT LEAST they were legit...
Now so many Amino drinks around they're probably stronger too!!
P.S.  This is the FIRST stuff I ever bought by mail back in the day, their glandular supp- it worked too!!!
I remember in one month adding 40lb to my bench, where it NEVER budged for months before that (my face got greasy as hell, and my back started getting pimples!!).

Bulking is great if you're sick bone skinny.  I was 25 years old, 5 10, and 125 pounds.

It took 18 months of compounds lifts, Taco Bell, Wendy's, oatmeal, and protein shakes + Golden Corral.

I went up to 220 pounds and yeah, maybe half was fat, but I was a lean 180 once I added cardio and eca

In some cases, sickly ectomorphs who play basketball all day, bulking can help.  I'm still under 140 today (like rest of family) without bulking

When and why did you stop going for a heavier bodyweight? Like you my genetic norm is skinny. For years I worked out and ate like a pig to overcome this. Recently, I decided to drop some weight. I'm about 5'10" and I weigh between 175-180, depending on how much water I'm holding. At this weight I feel much better than I did when I was around 200 lbs. Another bonus is clothes look better on me now.

I'm yet to see anyone who has achieved that super human pro size advocate anything less than 1g per lbs.

Why do you guys are still mixing grams and pounds? Gram comes from SI-standard and lb comes from U.S. Customary System. Originally this thumb rule comes from Arnold/Weider, who are from Austria and Canada, which both uses the SI-standard, so what it really means is 1-2g per kilo of lean mass. If you take 1-2  per lb, you take double doses all the time, so it is no wonder why muscles grow with the lower intake. For example, Steve Reeves used to eat three meals per day and measured his protein powder by table spoon. Most of the protein was sold as pills before protein powders really came to the market at the Armolds era. Grams per pound is a misinterpretation, one of thousands in this sport.

No way you would have seen me through the bedroom curtains without my knowing it. I have four dogs. Anything happens in the back yard and they're all over it. Nice try.... ;D

Even though it seems to fallen out of fave recently, I really place high importance on the post workout meal. Nothing like going into a workout just slightly hungry, killing it then going home to feast and recover.

I'm with ya...this one is crucial.  Pre and Post meals are the only ones that really truly matter i believe.

what makes you guys think PWO meal is important?  just how good it makes you feel?

i know when im hypo after a long cycling session, eating feels like the best thing in the world.  had i eaten more and kept stable blood sugar, the pwo meal wouldn't feel special.

For me yeah it just feels good to be depleted from my workout the get some food in. Maybe there is an anabolic window but who knows, difference is likely negligible if there is. I just like the feeling.

big difference between doing a massive cardio session.  For those, i don't care so much about pre workout meals, because the goal is massive calorie deficit and fat burning. But before a huge lift like a 1.5 hour brutal leg session or something, no pre workout meal means bad pump, less reps, less strength, etc. It sucks.

What do you eat preworkout, and how long before?

I've occasionally noticed a big difference, but it was so intermittent I eventually gave up trying to figure it out.

I've switched between working out early in morning and mid afternoon.  I'm back to morning workouts so I tend to workout on an empty stomach, but I found that in the afternoon I tended to have endless energy for my workouts.  I wouldn't eat anything about 2 hours before because on heavy sets I found myself getting a little sick in the stomach if I ate too soon before.  As for PWO.  I have a whey shake but tend not to eat real food for a couple hours later.  I have no appetite for food after a workout.

I can't workout in the morning, that causes me to want to crash about 5 pm.

I train 2 hours post meal. TRaining can take up to 2 hours. By then, it's been 4 hours since I've eaten. You bet I wanna get some cals in during that time. But liquid, no hunger at all. Can take me 2 hours to wanna eat whole foods again. I hate to eat, but do feel the need for bigger meals during the "infamous window of opportunity"...

well I'm unusual, because i need food an hour before i train or i go hypo.  The last 6 months of done a keto type diet with a weekly carb up and this is my favorite way of eating ever.  So my pre workout is a shake and like 3 tablespoons peanut butter or chicken breasts with an avocado or some combo of protein/fats.  throw in some caffeine and my energy and pumps are through the roof.  I lift for 75 mins and do 45 mins cardio, 6 days a week.

interesting.  thanks for the replies everyone.  chiro have you actually measured whether you're producing ketones or not?  ever consider ditching the carb day and going pure keto?
