Flushots whats the big deal?
« on: October 27, 2015, 10:15:15 PM »
Ok getbiggers, I'm gonna start this off and say that generally when I see the public doing something in mass and the government promoting something heavily alarm bells start going off in my head that something is fucked up.

So what is the deal with flu shots?  What conspiracy theories are there about flushots?  Why don't they work?  What are they really injecting us with?

Complete scam.  I work in medical field and they're a joke.  Last years was a complete miss, ended up being 20% effective.  I've had the flu more since we were required to get one.

I would argue against it. But from what I've read the bad thing about some vaccinations are the metals/impurities not the vaccine itself.

Before the flu shot, I got the flue damn near every year, like clock work.  Been getting the flu shot for the last 9 years, and haven't had the flu the last 9.   :D

It's the fucking flu, not Ebola. So you're sick for a few days, lay in bed watching cartoons while your girl fixes you soup and you get a few days off work. People are such pussies these days.

Serious question, have you had the flu, and were those your symptoms above?  My experience has been completely different.  High fever, vomiting, smashing headache, uncontrollable shaking, chills, every joint aches.  When I've had it in the past, these symptoms last for roughly 4-5 days, followed by about 2-3 days of lessening symptoms.  I'm usually wiped out of commission for 4-5 days, and weak as fuck for about 4-5 more.    >:(

I've gotten a flu shot every year for the past 8 years or so....maybe longer...can't remember for sure.  95% of the time I haven't gotten the flu.

Flu shot isn't a guarantee that you won't get flu because every strain can't be anticipated or known.

Like someone above, said last years shot was miss because the mix was only 20% effective....apparently it missed all sorts of strains I'd assume.

In the last decade I've only contracted flu once that I can remember and I did get the flu shot that year.

I only caught the flu twice in my life and I'm nearly 60. It's devastating. I increase my odds of staying healthy with the flu shot and decrease the risk factors. You guys that catch colds and say you have the flu don't have a clue.

Here's how it usually goes for me. Feel it coming on with swollen glands or tickle in throat. Lasts a few hours before giving way to chills/fever which sends me to bed bundled up with 5 blankets. 8-18 hours later, I'm sweating it out and pushing past the headache and on the uptick. Taking it easy, eating toast and bananas and maybe another day feeling weak but the worst is behind me. Then a BJ from my girlfriend and that's it. Feeling better and ready to go home to my wife, fresh as a daisy.

What's your point?  Every year will have a different efficacy based on many variable conditions.  This is no secret.  Some years are a slam dunk, and other years, not so much.  However, it still has a certain efficacy.  IE, it can help people.  For me, if it only has a 10% efficacy, it's still worth it.

And where did you get the idea that flu shots cause Alzheimer's?  Have you been reading Wiggs websites?   :D
