People who can't get over their teens and early twenties.
« on: November 01, 2015, 06:12:02 PM »
Have you ever encountered these people on social media? They're always posting old pictures on Instagram and FB and tagging their long lost buddies and gals in them. Then they'll have conversations reiterating situations about the events and people in the picture. "Remember when... ?" "Is that so-and-so in the flick?" "Remember that time..." "Is that the guy who... ?"

I have noticed the people who usually do this sort of thing are those who were involved in subcultures, usually irritating ones, such as the graffiti scene or hardcore and punk rock or some other nuisance "movement" consisting of people who have a problem with everything and everyone in this world and wanted to remain young and careless forever. Sometimes it's also done by people who were especially good looking or popular in their younger days, but upon entering the real world met stiff competition and blended in to the rest of the adult working world.

It's not what they are doing is harmful. It just strikes me as odd, considering I am actually having a better time in life at my age than when I was younger and I believe it will get even better (though my life is not perfect or problem free, like everyone else).

Is it that they can't get over more carefree moments in their life or that they can't just seem to get over the fact that the gig ended? Or that they don't want to face growing up? I don't think it's bad to reminisce with old friends, but done to excess, it seems like one can't let go.

And shouldn't some things just be left to pass or (gasp) DIE? Like, onto the next phase or next thing?

I know we all get trollish here, but I think there are some down-to-earth people here, realistic and hard headed "red pillers" so to speak that might relate considering it seems most here are in their 30's or older.

Don't have social media accounts and you don't have to worry about it.

This. Deleted FB in 2009, was only trouble and never used it anyway. Never joined any other social media.

I can imagine if life is shit you would remenisce about the past - bills, cleaning, driving, worrying about money... it isn't fun but it is life and it was absent for most people in school.

Life is what it is. I am 31 but look way better than when I was 21. I had optimism about life ahead of me when I was 21 which was crushed and destroyed but I overcame that and am stronger for it. Life isn't perfect for most of us. Dreams get crushed, you find out you don't always get paid what your talents deserve (if you get paid at all given the virus of internships) and you deal with heart break of relationships failing cos you age differently.

That's life... when you get past that you can grow again as a person.

For some people their teenaged years were the best days of their life. It was all downhill from there

Sometimes people go down reminisce boulevard but truthfully many of us are still having fun and enjoying life even though we are at new stages of our lives

Good post.

That said, half the posts here are "bbing in the 70s/80s/90s" was good....

But it was.

Just curios, what is the meaning behind your screen name? Also gave you seen the pic of Shizzo's sister's tits? They are impressive.

Remember the good old days when phaggots like the original OP had better things to do than create pathetic threads whining in their high pitched beta squeaks about social media problems. #TBT

Was that really Shizzo's sister? Pic was up and then gone, and nobody seems to have seen it.

And you make way too many references to wanting to fight people. What makes the difference. I am not gay and you aren't going to fight anyone. So blow me. Oops there I go again.

You should start a thread with a current "hit list".

Perhaps this has been done already.

For some people their teenaged years were the best days of their life. It was all downhill from there.

Other way around for me. Teen years sucked so bad that God had to step in to stop me from pulling a Columbine. He gave me a pile of money, a Ford Mustang, and the perfect apartment. I visited a Shaker settlement in upstate New York this weekend, and I just found a hole-in-the-wall restaurant where I had the best meal I've had in quite a while.
