I read barbara outlands book. Alot of cool and interesting unknown arnold stuff in there. Initially arnold may have been homophobic, she told a story about arnold going bezerk at ivan dunbar (if i remember rightly) as he was going to show some pumping iron footage to some friends. Arnold was weirded out at the thought of a room full of gays watching him and was ready to physically confront him. Barbara convinced him the gay scene isn't all seedy and having them on side can be positive and lucrative. so the idea of him posing for a spread in a popular gay mag isn't such a stretch.

They were known amongst gays, The first I heard of them was in an old humorous political magazine called Spy. Later Rotten.com got a hold of a few, then in 2005, it blew up. Apparently, there were three known Schwarzenegger photo shoots, one privately done, rumorly shot by Paco Arce, a rich gay guy. The After Dark photo shoot, that is apparently huge, but I've never seen all of it, and the Mapplethorpe one. I am not sure if the Mapplethorpe one has been secreted away, because you can only see a few regular shots from it. It seems the most interesting of the bunch, as Mapplethorpe had a thing for bodybuilders, and penises at a point.
