I don't lift anymore
« on: November 05, 2015, 07:22:08 PM »
Because of the fake phaggots. Who dress like women, cruise on 250 mg test, lift 25 lb dumbbells and do light cables.

Sometimes they shave their bodies in the locker room.

They have infiltrated even the few remaining hardcore gyms, and are starting to be the majority.

The music that is played is becoming incredibly shitty too.

How should one overcome this and get some motivation for lifting heavy again?

I haven't entered a gym in 3 months.

Any tips?

1.)stop being a bitch and worrying what other men are doing.
2.)buy some headphones.
3.) you don't have to go into the locker room, train in the evening.

Intimidate them with your great alpha maleness in all it's glory.

Or ignore them. Whatever works for you.

Hey, if a guy with a bum knee can leg press 1000 lbs., you can suck it up and train too.

I find myself shaking my head in disgust fairly often in gym (crossfit dickheads wreaking of BO doing kipping pullups/some aborted effort  of a dip on powwr rack), same sort of dickhead doing full arch to bench 60kg... and amazingly, same dickheads doing 40kg front squats or 70kg deadlifts after holding something akin to the Solvay Conference.

Either way, no matter how many people enrage me (no matter how old I get... (Wes  ;D) I don't give a shit when I'm in the zone. Well, I would love to smac them but skinny jeans and phaggy beards are to me like rock n roll and swaying hips were to parents in the 1950s.

The big guys do. Newbies do kettlebells, crossfit, made up exercises and look like shit.

Working hard on basics, like learning irregular verbs and basic grammar of a new language then improving is shunned for copying shit phrases learned online. But it is new so must be better. That is gap i see. Looking for new ways to invent the wheel when the wheel is doing ok.

Fast food society. Generation nothingness. Want everything right away. They "Go to war" with the weights, realize that it is actually difficult, and requires commitment (who knew?). They then scramble and improvise, trying to find the quickest, easiest way. Youtube "celebrities" and scammers consciously feed on this misdirection.

This applies to a lot more than just bodybuilding nowadays, sadly.

I know a guy that gave up bodybuilding in the gym. He now only does running, jui jitsu, body weight exercises and belongs to a boxing gym. He's 5'9" and about 175lbs. I think he can kick the ass of any of the top Olympia contenders quickly. While he couldn't get last place in a bodybuilding contest he is ripped and looks like an athlete instead of a bloated steroid user.  I know a hard core bodybuilder will make fun of him doing push ups, running and burpees but I bet the common recreational drug using bodybuilder wouldn't dare to try to keep up with him on the mat or in the ring.

You'd be an idiot to to think someone good at sport A is great at sport B. Dan Carter is a great outhalf and kicker for New Zealand, but he isn't a footballer (soccer player). I don't get why people see the carry over.

Of course being big helps if you do a physical sport but (prop in rugby, lineman, tall for basketball etc) it takes a lot more than physicality to be good at something. Skill, training and effort to maximise talent are important too.

Well, thanks for the suggestions guys,I appreciate.

Went to the gym today, and it was still gay.

Maybe I will try a new gym.

I do that every couple of years and it usually helps.
