The politician word games begin now.  You'll hear things like "I said I was offered a scholarship by a man, but I embellished him actually being there, and I never used the word *formally*, thus I'm not a liar".    


West Point has no record of Carson applying for admission, Politico said. In Carson's book "Gifted Hands," he says he got a "full scholarship" to the military academy.

Um, didn't Ben Carson score higher on the SAT than any kid in Detroit in 20 years?  He knew VERY well what the word meant...

A 4-star general could easily fast-track Carson's application up the chain. With that, his grades and his JROTC standing, Carson would be a lock.

No I have heard both ways.  I read he was proven not to be lying.  I read weatmoreand was not even there. 

One of these claims is false.  Was westmoreland absent, as the liberals claim?  Because if so, Carson certainly lied- forgetting a few details sure isn't adding a famous person to the mix.

nope, they are ELIGIBLE to APPLY but still have to be nominated by someone on that list or nominated by their "Professor of Military Science or Senior Instructor"

Carson was the top JROTC guy. His professor of military science would have made the recommendation, the general fast-tracks it up the nominating chain, and it's a done deal.

Professors of military science are usually full-bird colonels. Flag officers can move paperwork up the chain just  a wee bit faster.

From reading this thread (and others on this topic) it's pretty obvious that christians  believe if something "happened" long enough in the past it doesn't really matter if it happened or if it's totally made up.  You can still claim it's true.
